Slovienia: meeting with stakeholders

On the 4th of September 2019, the “Youth in transition” (YIT) partners of Slovenia, Institute of the Republic of Slovenia for Vocational Education and Training (CPI) and Cene Štupar – CILJ conducted a second meeting for associated partners with the Employment Service of Slovenia (ESS), the Slovenian Institute of Adult Education (SIAE), and the Social Chamber of Slovenia.

The aim of the meeting was three fold:

  1. to review the interim accomplishments of the team over the past eleven months,
  2. to receive critical feedback from the associated partners on the development of the tool for vocational maturity and other intellectual outputs (IOs), and
  3. to build closer bonds among all stakeholders of the YIT project – a key factor in making the project sustainable beyond its thirty month duration.

During the meeting the partners reviewed the findings from the needs analysis survey that included responses from almost one hundred professionals working with youth in elementary and secondary/vocational schools, employment agencies, and other governmental and non-governmental organizations of Slovenia.

The findings point out to the need for continuing professional development of professionals working with YIT, and for a greater cooperation of professionals working in different organizations. The associated partners stressed their support and the need for development of a scout profile that will facilitate greater cooperation among professionals from different organizations due to the fragmented nature of Slovenian social-educational sectors.

In addition, the associated partners gave feedback on the current version of the online tool for vocational maturity, and how it can be most useful and beneficial to professionals and youth alike; thus having a greater chance of sustainability while complementing other tools that are currently in use among professionals in social-educational sectors.
